  • London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE)
    • The London School of Economics is a public research university located in London, England, and a member institution of the federal University of London.


    • Admission: LSE enrolled 162 students in its LLB program in 2013. Applicants with an international degree have to appear for LSE’s UG Admissions Assessment (UGAA) test to qualify for the LLB program.
  • Melbourne Law School (MLS)

    • Admission: The average LSAT score for admission to JD ranges between 167-170. You need to have a first degree in law to apply for the LLM program.
  • Harvard Law School
    • Harvard Law School is one of the professional graduate schools of Harvard University located in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Founded in 1817, it is the oldest continuously operating law school in the United States and one of the most prestigious in the world.

    • Admission: Generally, Harvard takes into account undergraduate academic records, LSAT scores, and achievements in work or extracurricular activities for JD admissions.
  • Faculty of Law- Oxford University
    • The Faculty of Law, Oxford is the law school of the University of Oxford which has a history of over 800 years of teaching and writing law

    • Admission: Oxford being a collegiate university, applications have to be made to individual colleges under the Faculty of Law. However, if you do not want to choose a particular college you can instead make an “open application”, which means the Oxford Undergraduate Admissions Office will allocate your application to a specific college deemed suitable. Admissions to the Oxford undergraduate program are made through the National Admissions Test for Law (LNAT), which is a common law aptitude test. For graduate law programs, everyone with an undergraduate law degree, or equivalent, is eligible to apply.

  • Faculty of Law- University of Cambridge

    • The Faculty of Law, Cambridge is the law school of the University of Cambridge. The Faculty is one of the world's oldest and finest law schools, renowned for the quality of its teaching and its cutting-edge legal research, particularly in international law.
    • Admission: Cambridge being a collegiate university, applications have to be made to the individual colleges. Ideally, an international LLM aspirant should have first class degree and should be among the top 5-10% of the class. Besides, IELTS score limit is 7.5.


  • Yale Law School
    • Yale Law School is the law school of Yale University, located in New Haven, Connecticut, United States. Established in 1824, Yale Law offers the J.D., LL.M., J.S.D., M.S.L., and Ph.D. degrees in law
    • Admission: For JD, admissions are undertaken on the basis of LSAT scores. Competition is fierce as reflected in recent years where there were nearly 3000 first-year applicants for just 200 seats. Yale accepts around 22 to 25 students to its LLM program every year. Admission is generally open only to those committed to a career in teaching law.


  • New York University (NYU) - Law
    • The New York University School of Law is the law school of New York University. Established in 1835, it is the oldest law school in New York City. The school offers J.D., LL.M., and J.S.D. degrees in law, and is located in Greenwich Village in Lower Manhattan
    • Admission: JD admissions are done on the basis of an LSAT score. In 2014, in a class of 453 students a majority of the students i.e., 172 students scored 75 percentile. For LLM courses, too, aspirants have to apply via LSAC. A JD degree is necessary.


  • Stanford Law school

    • Stanford Law School is a professional graduate school of Stanford University, located in Silicon Valley near Palo Alto, California. Established in 1893, Stanford Law has been ranked one of the top three law schools in the country, with Yale Law School and Harvard Law School, every year since 1992

    • Admission: Applications usually open in September and aspirants have to apply through LSAC. According to the university, the Law School receives more than 4,500 applications from prospective students each year from which around 180 students join the university.
